In 1949 car was painted Silverton colors and named "Gen. Wm. Jackson Palmer" for 1949 world's fair. Car was retired in 1951. In 1958 car was restored by famous railroad authors Beebe & Clegg and named "Nomad".
In 1964 it was returned to service for private charter on the Silverton Branch. In 1982 the car was purchased by the Durango & Silverton Railroad.
